There exists a space that does not belong to a single reality. A space suspended between what is, what could be, and what we are still unable to define. Here, presence and absence, inside and outside, reality and imagination do not exclude one another. They coexist.

As in Schrödingerʼs paradox, multiple conditions can exist at the same time, until something, a gaze, a body, a presence, makes them perceptible.

But what happens when this principle enters architecture?
Can a space remain open to multiple possibilities?
Can it change without physically transforming?
Can it be perceived in different ways without having a single interpretation?
Schrödingerʼs Room emerges from this tension. It does not seek a definitive answer. It seeks a space capable of existing on the threshold between certainty and possibility.

“薛定谔的房间”（Schrödingerʼs Room）是一项国际概念建筑竞赛，面向所有将设计视为一种创造情感、探索理念及构想全新空间可能性的方式的人士。
受量子叠加态原理（即系统在被观测前可同时处于多种可能状态）的启发，本次竞赛邀请参赛者将这一状态转化为建筑表达。
挑战在于构想一个空间——无论是真实存在的还是想象中的——并将其视为一种空间与感知的体验。
Schrödingerʼs Room is an international conceptual architecture competition open to anyone who sees design as a way to create emotions, explore ideas, and imagine new spatial possibilities.
Inspired by the quantum principle of superposition, in which a system can exist in multiple possible states until it is observed, the competition invites participants to translate this condition into architecture.
The challenge is to imagine a space, real or imaginary, conceived as a spatial and perceptual experience.
“房间”一词不应被局限于传统意义上的房间。它可以是一种环境、一个界定的空间、一种建筑状态，或是一个通过光线、材质、声音、氛围、动态及人的存在所塑造的场所。
它可以是封闭的、开放的、部分界定的，甚至是难以用传统建筑边界来定义的。
竞赛未设定预设尺寸。空间可大可小，可极简亦可复杂，既可以是实体存在的，也可以是概念性的。
The term “Roomˮ should not necessarily be interpreted as a conventional room. The project may take the form of an environment, a defined space, an architectural condition, or a place shaped through light, material, sound, atmosphere, movement, and human presence.
It may be enclosed, open, partially defined, or even difficult to describe through the traditional boundaries of architecture.
There are no predefined dimensions. The space may be large or small, minimal or complex, physical or speculative.
关键不在于形式或功能，而在于空间能否呈现出多种状态、多重含义以及多种可能的体验。
同一个空间，因观察、进入或体验方式的不同，可能会给人带来截然不同的感受：既可以是开放的，也可以是封闭的；既可以是“在场”的，也可以是“缺席”的；既可以是熟悉的，也可以是陌生的。
竞赛不寻求常规的解决方案或可预见的解读，而是期待那些能够挑战既有感知、激发情感共鸣，并揭示那些不显而易见的可能性的创意构想。
What matters is not its form or function, but its ability to generate more than one condition, more than one meaning, and more than one possible experience.
The same space may feel open or enclosed, present or absent, familiar or unknown, depending on how it is observed, entered, or experienced.
We are not looking for conventional solutions or predictable interpretations. We are looking for ideas capable of questioning perception, creating emotion, and revealing possibilities that are not immediately visible.
请不要仅仅设计一个房间。

Do not simply design a room.
Design a spatial condition capable of existing in more than one way.
竞赛场地 / Competition Site
参赛者可自由选择项目选址，将其设定在世界任何角落。这是一项建筑创意竞赛，因此不要求参赛者实地考察特定地点。
Participants are free to choose the site for their project, imagining it anywhere in the world. This is an architectural ideas competition and, as such, does not require participants to visit any specific location.
Archcontest 绝不认可任何侵犯私人财产或进入不安全地点的行为，对于选择此类行为的人员，Archcontest 概不承担任何法律责任。
Archcontest does not authorize, in any way, the violation of private property or visits to unsafe locations and assumes no legal responsibility for those who choose to do so.
